Project Title: Conduct research and the creation of the facility's structure Underwater and Above the Water for research purposes

Project financing agreement No: POIG.01.04.00-22-009 / 12

Completion date: 1 June 2012 until 31 March 2015.

Project scope: Deep Ocean Technology accordance with the subsidy granted under the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013 Measure 1.4 "Support for targeted projects" implemented a project whose main objective was to improve the competitiveness and innovation of the company by leveraging industrial surveys leading to the creation of the product as innovation on an international scale.

The project was to carry out industrial research and development work, which enabled the development of a new product, ie. the Water Discus object, Patented under US Patent 9010266 "and offered to the world as an Underwater Hotel.

The most important result of the EU project was to achieve the intended results of research in the form of developed technical documentation, classification society and certification of security unit and a number analyzes related to the critical issues in the design of Water Discus. Additionally, thanks to the project, the company hired new employees and set up a new R & D department appointed to conduct the research necessary to implementing new products and improve existing ones.

The main idea developed design is to create an environment that will allow users Water Discus stay, live and work underwater for an unlimited period of time and at the same time enjoy the view of the surrounding coral reefs and marine life. In addition, WD technology offers excellent conditions for underwater recreation and research.

The project was implemented in cooperation with a number of subcontractors, including Gdansk University of Technology in conducting industrial research and development work, StoGda Ship Design & Engineering in design work, Wuprohyd in the field of hydroengineering works and the Polish Register of Shipping in the security design and approval of construction documents.

In the period from 1 June 2012 until 31 March 2015 we realized four main tasks of the project, ie.

  1. Conducting research on the model in 1:25 scale.
  2. Continuation of research on the initial model, leading to the creation of the final concept of the real dimensions.
  3. Research Simulation models and construction.
  4. The development work related to the development of documentation for approval.


The project was completed a final report on its implementation.

The level of funding the research part was 66.72%

The total value of the target project was 2 964 147 PLN
